There is an msecure converter in the converter suite that can directly convert an mSecure export file. Just follow the directions in the README.pdf. There's a section that describes how to export your mSecure data for the converter, and the exports limitations.
Using 1Password is quite a psychological change for me. I'm coming out of mSecure 3.5.7 (that I liked) because it was simple. That version has now been discontinued. I tried their latest version (5.6 I think) and was not a fan. I did some research and decided to go with the "Big Dogs", (that's you). I'm quite active on Apple Discussions, many there recommended 1Password. (They view you as Mac first, Windows 2nd.)
mSecure 3.5.7
With mSecure 3.5.7 the encrypted data was "just a file" in my Documents folder. (One time, just for fun I opened the mSecure encrypted file with TextEdit, and it was gibberish.) Using the tennis-shoe network, I copied this file onto a USB stick and copied it from my Mac Pro silver tower, to my MacBook Pro. Synchronization to iPhone was done locally only with Wi-Fi.
I have just upgraded to mSecure 3.5.7 to mSecure 5.5 and cannot see how to import all of my original data. Alternatively, I have just bought a new ipad and need to install mSeure on it but cannot find mSecure 3.5.7 on the appstore. Can you let me know how to do this.
I looked at moving on to the current mSecure from the 3.5.7 that I love so much and I really can't see me making that transition until I can find a way to filter by group and type. I imported the current 3.5.7 database to a new machine with the current version and I can filter by group, or by type, but not both. For example - in 3.5.7 I can easily show all the email address for a single group. In the current version I can show all the entries for a group, or all the email address for all groups - but not both filters at once.
I looked around at many alternatives and it appears that I've been very lucky with 3.5.7. I haven't found anything that gives me local database multi platform access to info the way 3.5.7 does. It's the best thing in the world and it's sad it might stop working with dropbox sync. That's going to cause me some trouble if it can't be resolved. I now have a replacement laptop also which I can't really use as I can't get it hooked up.
