SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the Rush Hour expansion pack, which adds new tra

I had spent months of my time creating a beautiful mega-region, with 4.5 million people in some 60+cities. This endeavor took a lot of work, I was using half a dozen mods to make SimCity 4 do some extrawonders for me, and once I was done, I copied my game save into a special backup folder. I didn't wantto lose such a precious achievement. That was 2008-ish or so. Now, I had the game on Steam, but howdoes one go about loading those old region saves?

As I mentioned in my state of Linux gaming mini-review from a few weeks back, this also applies tomods. You can put the Windows binaries in the Plugins folder, and they should - largely - work. Youwill be able to enhance the basic game functionality as you feel like. Very cool. So I'm wondering, given how few things I have on my plate, if I should carve out a fresh chunk of my life and commit toyet another months-long session in this awesome game. Well, take care.

Thankfully, Cities: Skylines comes with a built-in system for adding in game mods and plenty of amazing creators have created mods which fix some of the problems in the game, make things easier, or just make Cities: Skylines more fun, overall.

If you havent played around with mods yet, or dont know which mods are essential for Cities: Skylines, this is the article for you How To Install Mods For Cities: Skylines Installing mods on Cities: Skylines is extremely simple.

Inside there should be a Mods folder (again, create one if theres not one made already); simply drag and drop your mods (they should be packaged in folders) into this folder, then close the windows and start your game.

How to Subscribe to These Mods: If you want to see a list of all the mods listed below in the Steam workshop, subscribe to them individually, or even just subscribe to all of them in one click, check out my collection page on Steam.

Perhaps most importantly, SimCity 4 included the BAT, the Building Architect Tool, which enabled modders to create their own buildings and place them in the game. Custom buildings, maps and mods have greatly extended the life of SimCity 4 and at the time of writing there are over 21,000 files available from community site Simtropolis, including several new uploads in the past 24 hours.

SimMars is a mod for SimCity 4 taking the game to Mars. It will bring new buildings, transportation systems, user-interface and music and will replace the Maxis SimCity 4 content as far as possible, giving you the feeling to play a colony on Mars. The mod is still at beta stage. Beta 3 was released. I am having a beast of a time trying to get some mods to work for Simcity 4 Deluxe. I re-purchased the game through Steam, and now I can't mod.

How does it all work? What are the tools of the trade? And what's the best way to get started with a nice collection of mods? I saw the at SimTropolis, but it seems pretty old now. What I'd really like is either a package of mods that I can just drop in, or an app like the WoW Curse client where I can search, click 'Install' and be done. How do I do this in SC4? I was looking into this last night.

Unfortunately, there is no equivalent to the Curse Client for SC4. You're stuck running an actual installer for each mod, and tracking down dependencies for the mods manually. One mod I found last night has 126 dependencies!! I really don't want to have to download and run 126 installers just so my seaports look realistic.I say start with the basic NAM for better traffic modelling and a few of its plugins like Railway Addon Mod and the Network Widening Mod. Then, you can see if its worth the time to expand into custom lots and terrain mods. NAM is almost an absolute necessity because one of the most integral parts of the game, transportation, was also the leased developed in the base game. Rush Hour made things a little better, but your city had to be 1/2 roads just to keep everyone happy.

Fortunately, the talented and passionate modding community of Fallout 4 has created some fantastic mods that make settlement building much more intuitive and enjoyable. From simple quality-of-life improvements to fundamental overhauls, here are twelve fantastic settlement mods that make settlement building so much better.

Updated on July 23, 2022, by Ritwik Mitra: Fallout 4 is a game that boasts a robust modding community that has tried to augment each and every aspect of the game ranging from its gameplay to its visuals. Adding a litany of great mods does wonders when it comes to improving the technical side of the game while also adding more meat to its already loaded bones. Settlement building and maintenance is one such area that mods cover extensively, so we've updated this list to include a few more of the best Fallout 4 settlement mods.

While a lot of the Fallout 4 settlement mods focus on making settlements bigger and better, hifoo's Kamuro Neon mod is a little more niche. It's one that's been built specifically for fans of the Yakuza series and aims to bring a little taste of the Japanese nightlife to the Boston wasteland.

Due to the number of mods that add new items to the settlement system, the border space Bethesda gives players with every settlement can sometimes prove to be just a little bit too small. With the help of mods, though, that need no longer be the case.

Note: The mod weighs in at just over 400MB MB and XBox users are limited to a total of 2 GB of installed mods. A lite version of Sim Settlements is also available on Xbox, the goal is to keep that version significantly smaller. The lite version is identical to the main, only the custom sounds are removed and building stages during upgrades are removed.

Everything! I have built large cities that fill up the largest block. Roads, houses, commercial and industrial areas, etc. Everything works. You can even use mods with success. This game runs great and performance is very good.
